Saldo is operated by Franchise Family Ltd(trading as Saldo), Company No. 17179848, registered in England and Wales, registered office: Stoney Works, 8 Stoney Lane, London SE19 3BD. In this policy, “Saldo”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to that legal entity. This policy explains what personal data we process when you visit saldo.team, request a demo, or use the Saldo product.
The personal data we collect
When you submit a demo request, we collect the data you give us: name, work email, agency name, role, team size and any free-text notes. When you subscribe to our newsletter we collect your email address only.
When you use the Saldo product, we process the data you authorise us to read from Jira through the official Atlassian API: project keys, issue keys, worklogs (who logged what time on which issue), labels, components and assignees. We also process the hourly cost and rate values you enter into Saldo for each member of your team.
We do not place advertising cookies on saldo.team. We do not run third-party tracking scripts. Server logs may include your IP address and a basic user-agent string; these are kept for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
How we use it
- To respond to your demo request and follow up by email.
- To deliver the Saldo product (compute project profitability, render reports).
- To send you the newsletter you signed up for, with a clear unsubscribe link.
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations (HMRC, Companies House, GDPR record-keeping).
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
Lawful basis (UK GDPR / EU GDPR)
We rely on (a) contract when you become a customer, (b) legitimate interests when handling demo enquiries you initiated, (c) consent for the newsletter (which you can withdraw with one click), and (d) legal obligation for tax and accounting records.
Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Our hosting and email providers, on contractual data-processing terms.
- Atlassian, when you authorise a Jira connection.
- Tax authorities and auditors when legally required.
International transfers
Saldo product data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in EU and UK regions. Some of our communications providers operate from the United Kingdom and the United States; where data leaves the UK or EU, we rely on UK IDTA / EU SCCs as the legal mechanism.
Retention
Demo enquiries: 24 months unless you became a customer or asked to be deleted earlier. Customer data: for the duration of the contract plus 6 months for off-boarding, after which it is deleted on request. Server logs: 30 days. Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port and object to our processing of your personal data. You can exercise any of these rights, including unsubscribing from communications, by emailing hello@saldo.team. If you believe we have not handled your data correctly you can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
